Project Description: 

Working Classroom offers rigorous artistic training and college prep to ambitious, low-income middle and high school students. Our award-winning theater and visual art program serves over 175 students each year during our after school conservatory and summer art institute. We are looking for volunteer tutors/mentors to work with individual students one-hour a week between 4pm and 5pm any day, Monday - Thursday OR as needed/available for individual students (student and tutor agree to a regular one-hour commitment for a minimum of six weeks). During this time tutors provide homework help and act as mentors by providing a student with a positive role model. We especially need volunteers who can help students with writing, math or science.

Volunteers from ALL BACKGROUNDS welcome and appreciated. College graduates who grew up in low-income households, first generation college grads, Spanish speakers and people of color strongly encouraged to apply.

Nonprofit/Agency will provide: 
A fun, hands-on, one-hour volunteer training with refreshments. Tutoring supplies and basic professional development curriculum and the chance to change a life!
