This workshop on Monday, September 29th from 8am-3:30pm in Albuquerque will prepare New Mexico’s nonprofit leaders to secure and manage federal state and local funding and maintain compliance in light of the changing federal landscape. Attendees will learn the basics of:
- accessing public funds,
- how to obtain matching funds, and
- best practices for funding preparedness in organizations of all sizes.
Targeted breakout sessions based on organizational capacity will include:
- compliance,
- financial management,
- state funding,
- evaluation processes, and
- a grant readiness walkthrough.
The workshop also features a panel of nonprofit leaders who participated in the project pilot, sharing their own experiences with public funding.
All attendees will who complete the full day of training will receive a free one-year Groundworks New Mexico organizational membership.

- All attendees must complete assigned pre-work, including a New Mexico Nonprofit Capacity Assessment, by Friday, September 19. Pre-work will be emailed to registrants and is estimated to take 30 to 45 minutes to complete per organization.

- Organizations are encouraged to send more than one representative. Separate registrations are required.
- The registration fee covers breakfast and lunch during the event.
