Groundworks is excited to invite New Mexico-serving nonprofit applicants for three concurrent Public Funding Readiness Cohorts! There will be three cohorts running concurrently with a maximum of 45 participants. The make-up of the cohorts will be determined from the applicant pool. Groundworks and the project’s funders seek to prioritize the following: small, rural, tribal, and BIPOC-led nonprofits from across the state and those in Early Childhood and K-12 Education, Housing, and Water sectors.
All New Mexico-serving nonprofits are encouraged to apply!

The application is now open. For best consideration, applications should be submitted by September 26 with October 3 as the final day for submission. Cohorts will meet via Zoom on:

- May 8, 2026
- June 12, 2026
- July 10, 2026
There will be an all-day, in-person gathering on Friday, November 12, 2025, and cohort spotlighting at the Groundworks New Mexico Social Sector Conference on April 8 & 9, 2026.
Cohort participants will receive:
a complimentary one-year membership to Groundworks New Mexico for cohort organizations and the member rate for the annual Social Sector Conference; unlimited, no cost access to Center for Nonprofit Excellence trainings, workshops, and webinars; and a minimum of seven hours of one-on-one technical assistance throughout the cohort for participants and their organizations.

These training opportunities are made possible by the Accessing Public Funds project, a funder collaborative whose aim is to increase funding for New Mexico’s Tribal, nonprofit, and government sectors by providing targeted training and technical assistance to support access to major public funding.
