Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

NMCTR has three main programs:

1. Horse Care: Need volunteers to do this 2x a day.

2. Groundwork: Volunteers learn natural horsemanship while working with our equines.

3. Lessons: Volunteers can help with sidewalking (supporting the rider throughout the lesson) or horse leader (in charge of the horse during the lesson).

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Children, Youth and Adults with a special need or mental illness greatly benefit from Therapeutic Riding. Volunteers are needed to support each rider during their participation in the programs for safety, promotion of independence, social skills, among many other needs.
