Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Crossroads for Women is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated volunteer to host a computer skills group for our community members. Examples of desired skills are computer care and maintenance (how to run updates and the importance of keeping a computer up to date, how to install and use antivirus, etc), how to set up and maintain an email account, web safety (avoiding scams and viruses, what info is not safe to give out online, etc), setting up and navigating social media, how to use the Microsoft and Google suites, and how and where to look for and apply for jobs online. Groups would be held on a weekly basis, once a week on a day between Monday and Friday, and for one hour between the times of 10 am and 5pm. Group would be held on a consistent schedule, with ability to change group schedule from month to month if needed.

This project will impact women involved in the CRFW programs who have a history of incarceration, are maintaining recovery from substance use, and living independently, or in transitional housing.
