Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Albuquerque Heading Home, a nonprofit housing-first model aiming to make experiences of homelessness rare, short-lived, and non-recurring, is currently looking for volunteers to join a Home Team.

Home Teams are 2-4 volunteers who provide social support to neighbors as they adjust from living on the street to housed living.

This volunteer position is about fostering friendship & community ties with people who have experienced homelessness. Our new neighbors can struggle with tasks such as cooking, grocery shopping, and getting out in the community.

Home Team volunteers commit to spend a minimum of 3 hours per month for 6 months in helping one neighbor. They provide companionship and friendship while doing activities the neighbor would like to do.
