Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Bereavement Facilitators lead the peer support groups at the Children's Grief Center of NM. You need not be a mental health professional to become a facilitator. You must be a compassionate listener, able to connect with kids, and ready to commit to one year of groups with children (or adults) who are grieving a significant death. Groups meet Tues., Wed, or Thurs. in the north valley and Thurs. in Rio Rancho. The time commitment is 5:15 - 8:30 pm twice per month during the school year - for a total of about 18 evenings.

You need to attend training to become a facilitator. The next training is (Fri evening - Sunday at 3pm) Jan. 8 - 10, 2016. You can find the registration form for the training and the volunteer application on our website childrensgrief.org or contact Kelly by clicking Volunteer Now above.
