Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Volunteer Support Group Facilitators lead peer support groups for children, teens, young adults, & adult caregivers grieving the death of a loved one. Facilitators must attend a two day training (Jan. 14th & Jan. 15th - 8:30 am - 5 pm). After training, new facilitators are partnered with more experienced facilitators and supported by our program staff. Support groups meet twice a month, during the school year. No previous experience in support groups or counseling is required. (Groups meet on Tues. or Wed. nights in the north valley and on Thurs. nights in Rio Rancho.)

Nonprofit Will Provide: 

We will provide meals during the training and after support group meetings on a group night.
We will also provide additional training throughout the year to enhance the knowledge and skills of volunteer facilitators.

Additional Requirements: 

Volunteer training costs $45 for volunteers who commit one year to volunteering with Children's Grief Center.
