Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:

Crossroads for Women is looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated volunteer to host a fibers group (either sewing, knitting, or crochet) for the women of our community. Group would be held consistently on a weekly basis, on any day Monday through Friday for an hour between the hours of 10 am and 5 pm. There would be some room for flexibility in availability from month to month. Topic of the group is flexible depending on what skill the volunteer would like to teach, skills in sewing, knitting, or crochet preferred. Ideal volunteer would be knowledgeable in their skill of choice and able to teach new skills (the basics of sewing/knitting/crochet like how to sew by hand or machine, how to cast on/cast off in knitting, etc), as well as facilitate an environment where the women can workshop and socialize. Ideal group would start with learning a new skill, then have some “free time” for the women to practice the skill or work on their project.
