Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The SFAS Community Cat program, Gatos de Santa Fe, is in need of field volunteers to help trap and transport community cats in Santa Fe for the purpose of spay/neuter. This process is called TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return).

Work involved for each position:
Trapping and Returning Cats
• Trapping community cats in designated areas
• Transporting those cats to our shelter clinics for surgery
• Picking up those cats the next day and returning them to their community
• Clearly communicating information about the Gatos de Santa Fe program to the public

Returning Only (No Trapping)
• Transporting community cats from our shelter clinics back to their community
• Clearly communicating information about the Gatos de Santa Fe program to the public

Additional Requirements: 

Clean driving record, ability to work independently, ability to represent the SFAS in a professional manner, ability to be sensitive to neighbors and their issues with cats, sensitivity to the animals.
