Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Starting at Silver Horizons (3540 Pan American Freeway NE, Suite B), sort and box food, then go to Pantry location (Los Volcanes) to distribute food to seniors in need; some bending and lifting may be required. Trucks are needed to transport the food from Silver Horizons to the pantry location. Event Time: 11:30-4:30

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Silver Horizons provides critical help to extremely low-income and in-crisis seniors by helping to meet their basic needs, providing access to nutrition and maintenance of a decent standard of living.

Every month Silver Horizons' Food Distribution Program provides about 2-weeks’ worth of food to about 1,500 seniors in the Greater ABQ Area.

Additional Requirements: 

Volunteers may have to bend and lift boxes of food. We also need at least 4 volunteers with a truck or cargo van which will be used to transport the food to the pantry location.
