Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Start at Silver Horizons (3540 Pan American Freeway NE, Suite B). Sort and box food
for the pantry, load up the trucks then drive to the pantry location (North Valley Senior Center). Set up the pantry and distribute food to Seniors. Some bending and lifting may be required. Trucks are needed to transport the food from Silver Horizons to the pantry location. Event time: 11:30a.m.-4:30p.m.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

Silver Horizons provides critical help to extremely low-income and in-crisis seniors by helping to meet their basic needs, by providing access to nutrition and maintenance of a decent standard of living.
Every month Silver Horizons' Food Distribution Program provides about 2-weeks’ worth of food to about 1,500 seniors in the Greater ABQ Area.

Additional Requirements: 

Volunteers may have to bend and lift boxes of food. Trucks/cargo vans are needed to transport the food to the pantry location, so if you sign up to volunteer, please let the volunteer coordinator know that you will be able to help with transporting the food.
