Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:
Bowl for Kids' Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico's largest annual fundraising campaign for kids. The event has been held nationally for 50 years and locally for 35! The money raised through this fundraiser will be used to support quality mentoring matches between caring adult volunteers and youth facing adversity in central New Mexico. Our goal for BFKS 2018 is $102,500 to help more than 1,600 children stay in school, graduate, build confidence, and achieve success in life.
The 2018 event takes place between 9 am and 9 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Isleta Fun Connection. Shifts can be as little as 2 hours long during that time period. Volunteers are needed to help with directing participants, exchanging t-shirts, supervising the buffet, assisting the photographer, and similar tasks. Up to 30 volunteers are requested to work various, flexible shifts throughout the day.
Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project:
Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
