To build a stronger community through the creation and support of positive one to one relationships between children and adult volunteers.
Big Brothers Big Sisters fosters relationships between children and caring mentors. Children are ages 6-18 years old, most from single/no parent families, living at/below poverty, and/or minority. Matches in the community-based program meet outside the home several times/month. Matches in the school-based program meet at the child's school for an hour a week. All matches engage in activities to support the child’s positive development.
BBBS-CNM is proven to significantly improve a child's ability to avoid drugs, alcohol, and violence, to increase chances of graduating high school, and to enhance social relationships.
