Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

The Board is responsible for:
- Ensuring Adequate Financial Resources (70 percent): Includes major donor solicitations, special events, grant writing and review, interaction with the County and other potential sources of funds, and legislative advocacy.
- Oversight of Programs (10 percent):
 - Policy and Strategic Planning (20 percent)
Term length: An elected member of the Board of Directors serves a three-year term.
Financial commitment: Each Board member is asked to make a personal financial contribution to the library. Advocacy: Board members are expected use their connections to spur interest in and support of the Library.
Meeting attendance: Each member is expected to prepare for and attend monthly meetings of the Board.
Serve on committees and volunteer: Each member is asked to participate in one or more of the Board promotional committees and to serve as a volunteer supporting the Library operations.

- Is a fan and patron of the library who is interested in guiding its future,
 -Has time to devote to the library, is willing to attend board meetings, and serve on committees,
- Has skills that would benefit the library,
- Is a team player, open minded, shares ideas, and actively participates,
- Is willing to contribute financially to the library.
