Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Volunteers to enroll as Legacy Corp. volunteers who can commit to 450 hours of volunteer service over the course of 1 year to assist the Alzheimer's Association, New Mexico Chapter to deliver programs, including Savvy Caregiver Education classes, health fairs and respite to persons living with Alzheimer's disease and other related dementia and their caregivers.

You will be providing education and resources to family caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's and other Dementia, and persons with Alzheimer's and other Dementia.

Nonprofit Will Provide: 

All training and materials. As Legacy Corp volunteers, you will be eligible to earn a stipend of $250.00 per month and after completing 450 hours in a year will receive an educational award in the amount of $1,493.00 that is paid directly to an institution (school, student loan lender, etc.) on your behalf. Additionally, mileage incurred will be reimbursed by the Alzheimer's Association.

Additional Requirements: 

Volunteers in rural areas of New Mexico are especially needed to deliver programs to these under served areas. Travel could be required and mileage is reimbursed if necessary.
