Mission Statement:

Street Safe New Mexico (formerly Safe Sex Work) is dedicated to protecting the health and safety of all marginalized women, especially those who must live on the streets in order to survive or have been victims of sex trafficking.

Primary Programs:

Our programs are designed to help accomplish two goals. to protect:
1) The health
and
2) The safety
of women who live and work on the streets.
 
Programs that are geared toward safety include:
Bad Guy List — we gives descriptions of men who have attacked women on the street, especially those who do sex work
Pepper Spray Give-Away — provides homemade pepper spray to women who live on the street to help with their protection and sense of safety
 
Programs that are geared toward health include:
Safe Sex Work — provides condoms and feminine hygiene products to women who do street-based sex work
Save Your Skin — Medical students from the University of New Mexico eduate IV drug users one on one about how to prevent abscesses. Clients are given flyers about abscess prevention.
