A Call to Action! Be one of hundreds of volunteers participating in this years Make a Difference Day Event!
Created over 20 years ago by USA Weekend Magazine and joined by Hands-On Network, Make a Difference Day is the largest national day of community service...a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors.
From collection drives, to painting classrooms to packing food boxes, thousands of projects are planned each year from coast to coast working with corporations, nonprofit organizations and communitites.
In 2009, Make a Difference day registered 228 projects by 200 non-profits with 4000 volunteers participating through the Mayors Office on Volunteerism and Engagement in Albuquerque.
Last year Make a Difference Day partnered with the Center for Non-Profit Excellence, creating a website for projects and volunteer sign-ups, and enjoyed similar success.
One such project was the Mission of Mercy, where close to 2,000 New Mexicans were treated to free dental care by over 800 volunteers.
Whether you are young or old, an individual or a group we invite you to join us in helping others for this Make a Difference Day event, and select the project(s) that speak to you!
