Main Areas of Responsibility:
The Director of Public Policy directs state and relevant federal public policy/advocacy efforts in New Mexico as well as the Ambassador Program for Congressional advocacy and the State Champion program for state advocacy.
• Under the leadership of the National Public Policy Office, implement national policy initiatives of the Alzheimer’s Association.
• Provide staff leadership for the development of public policy strategies and goals at the state level.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
• Recruit and train advocates and manage advocate communications.
• Manage the database of public policy advocates.
• Provide updates and reporting on advocacy-related actions and matters, including recruitment, contacts with congress and state leaders and legislative updates.
• Plan, implement and promote advocacy-related events.
