PRN (Back-Up Shelter Staff)

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The AOC at Heading Home is looking for a PRN employee who works as back up shelter staff in a variety of positions and who is available for on-call shifts. Flexibility of schedule is a must, as well as reliable transportation. Ability to respond to calls within 15-20 minutes is a must. Ability to cover overnight shifts is imperative! Training provided.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Albuquerque Heading Home oversees the Albuquerque Opportunity Center (AOC), an emergency overnight shelter for men 18 years and up that are experiencing homelessness. We are open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Our shelter houses 88 beds.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Minimum HS diploma or equivalent work experience with persons who are homeless and/or low-income persons and/or families. Must be able to work with people of diverse backgrounds and know how to set boundaries. Strong verbal communication skills needed. Bilingual a plus. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
