Peer Advocate

Type of Job: 
Full-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Provide education, advocacy, and peer support to tenants; Help build a collective sense of community for tenants of Hope Village; Assist with intake and orientation process for new tenants; Build rapport and trusted relationships with tenants; Be part of a team that will develop and implement relevant peer support activities to focus on life skills, independence, and enhancing quality of life for tenants of Hope Village

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Complete all required documentation within the expected timeframe; Check in regularly with tenants of Hope Village and advocate for them when necessary; Serve as a liaison with community service workers, nurses, and psychiatrist concerning clients as needed/appropriate; Participate in program evaluation development

Other Information/Requirements: 

Minimum requirement of Associates degree in related field or two years’ experience working with the target population; CPSW certification or be willing to pursue; Must have been a recipient of mental health services for severe and persistent mental illness with strong self-knowledge and sufficiently progressed in your own recovery in order to be able to effectively manage your mental illness.
