Job description
Casa Q On-Call Shelter Advocates create a welcoming, trauma-informed environment for the LGBTQ+ and allied young adults (14-17 years old) in Casa Q’s Residential Shelter program. On-Call Shelter Advocates do not typically work regularly scheduled shifts but respond to unplanned shift openings, when they arise, to ensure shelter operations are running smoothly and maintain a safe environment for those we serve.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Monitor the residents and perform regular walking checks of the space
Assist Clients with any interpersonal conflicts or disputes
Provide supplies and/or meals as appropriate when requested
Drive clients to and from school, appointments, etc.
Give out and document medication for clients
Help clients work towards completing goals to succeed after the program
Clean, sanitize, and organize the space regularly
Complete cleaning checklists (daily, weekly, and monthly as required)
