Main Areas of Responsibility:
The mission of the American Heart Association is to build healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Many racial/ethnic communities are disproportionately affected by these diseases and, while these populations are most at risk, they are generally less aware of their risk. Our commitment is to increase health equity among our communities. This is an excellent opportunity to advance the American Heart Association's Health Equity programs in the state of New Mexico.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
•Developing our Health Equity department in the state of New Mexico with a focus on Albuquerque and surrounding communities.
•Securing funding so that programs can be successfully sustained.
•Securing and cultivating collaborative partnerships with public health organizations and community based organizations to advance mutual objectives.
•Developing relationships with local volunteers, community leaders and other stakeholders to provide effective public education and community outreach.
