Fund Development and Community Relations Specialist

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Oversees the external constituency-building activities of the GSNMT council, increasing our visibility in the communities we serve. Provides support to the Fund Development Director in the planning, development, and implementation of fundraising programs and activities, and in the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of donors and sponsors.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Direct and indirect donor interaction. Design/implement external community relations plan,increasing awareness throughout the state. Represent organization at business/community meetings. Provide opportunities for media exposure. Database reporting. Respond to donor inquiries; secure and process donor gifts, and provide donors with relevant materials. Assist in promotional and fundraising activities and events. Provide financial stewardship/reporting to donors; ensure appropriate expenditure of donor funds.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; 3 years of experience in development, marketing, or sales. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work in a diverse community. Ability to increase visibility and credibility within the community. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate media activities and special events. Ability to work across departments and manage a flexible schedule. Ability to travel throughout the state to attend meetings or events. Knowledge of Donor Perfect preferred.
