Match Support Specialist - Navajo Nation

Type of Job: 
Full-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

• Focus on the Navajo Nation communities and surrounding areas (i.e.Kirtland, Shiprock)
• Effectively create and maintain partnerships with all sites to ensure a smooth program and constant flow of child referrals
• Recruit, interview, and enroll children and volunteers from the sites for the program and match the youth with appropriate mentors

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Identify and develop relationships with tribal contacts for program growth and development
• Continually assess the match (adult mentor and child) relationship focusing on child safety, match relationship development, positive youth development and volunteer satisfaction
• Ensure child safety
• Develop, promote and implement individual and group match activities

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bilingual ~ Navajo/English is required
BA is required ~ Social services, sociology, psychology or related field is preferred. College transcripts will be required. Assessment and relationship development experience with child and adult populations; understanding of child development and family dynamics. Must pass federal background check.
