Forensic Interviewer

Job Description
Type of Job: 
Full-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Forensic interviewing of children, adolescents and developmentally delayed adults who are suspected to be the victim of sexual and/or physical abuse or witness to a violent crime.
Conduct/observe forensic interviews of child victims/witnesses meeting legal requirements and child protection needs.
Facilitate pre/post-interview case staffing.
Oversee intake and scheduling functions relative to emergencies and prioritization.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Train new interviewers to ensure that services are completed with satisfaction to meet the needs of the case team and the needs of the child.
• Participate in monthly case reviews with larger MDT in multiple counties and peer review.
• Complete case files, statistical and case-tracking paperwork.
• Respond to subpoenas and testify when court orders.

• Effective decision-making skills routine/emergency situations.
• Ability to problem-solve
• Ability to set and example for quality work and professional atmosphere with CAC staff.
• Excellent command of technical and qualitative knowledge of child abuse investigation issue and dynamics.
• Computer literacy
• Valid divers license and clean driving record

How to Apply: 

Education required:
• Undergraduate degree in a field related to social sciences, education, criminal justice, nursing, psychology, etc.
• Minimum of one year working with children.
