Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The ED will work closely with the Board of Directors to: leverage and build existing and new partnerships; develop a resource development plan to grow the fiscal resources through many channels including grants and fundraising from individual, organizational, governmental and foundation donors, and; oversee strategic planning, day-to-day operations, internal and external communications, and membership growth and engagement strategies.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The ED will: oversee public health professional development and technical assistance to support a strong public health workforce; represent NMPHA on regional and state collaboratives related to improving public health systems and public health policies in NM; develop and advocate for policy priorities aligned with the NMPHA mission, and; serve as a key spokesperson, advocate, and organizer to promote adoption and implementation of priority policies.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Experience promoting public health practice, policies, and systems that support health equity in NM
Commitment to dismantling structural racism
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse priority populations, elected officials, and media
Experience with fundraising for nonprofits, including grants
Experience participating in and leading advocacy campaigns
Experience with non-profit board development
Knowledge of sound fiscal practices
Experiencing coordinating professional development events
