Development Specialist

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Cultivate relationships with institutional funders. Proposal and grant writing. Research, identify, and match potential institutional funders with funding needs and opportunities. Help maintain a central file of institutional funders’ records of correspondence (hard copy). Monitor that report dates. Produce monthly reports. Assist with other council functions as needed. Attend weekly development staff meetings. Work closely with staff to develop, programs and funding.

Other Information/Requirements: 

2-5 years experience in fundraising and marketing, including annual campaigns. CFRE and MA degree/equivalent preferred. Knowledge of fund development principles and public relations. Flexible and able to respond to multiple demands. Flexible work schedule, travel required. Skill in preparing written reports and presentations. Solid writing, editing and presentation ability. Professional demeanor, flexible and able to respond to multiple demands. Possess reliable personal transportation and insurance.
