Corporate Development Director

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The American Heart Association is seeking a Corporate Development Director who will focus primarily on Heart Walk Team development, with additional responsibilities and goals associated with our Go Red For Women and Heart Ball campaigns/events. This position requires someone who has experience with large fundraising/sales goals and large events. This position is responsible for raising $250K of the total office goal of $600K-plus in the greater Albuquerque area.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Essential Duties

• Actively works with local business community to secure and grow major sponsorships for AHA events.

• Plans and coordinates the logistics for large fundraising events.

• Works to ensure future success of events through exploratory meetings, sales calls, and creating strategies to develop current and new donors.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Required Skills

• Knowledge and skills in fund raising principles, practices and techniques.

• Ability and experience to recruit, train, counsel, and manage volunteer groups and to develop long range organizational goals and follow through with them.

• Ability to lead a team but also to work independently.

• Ability to apply sound judgment and problem solving skills to conflicts.

• Skill in making presentations to large and small audiences.
