Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Reporting to the CFO, this position will play a major role in realigning and strengthening the company-wide accounting functions and assisting in other financial management matters. The Controller will lead an accounting team with 10+ employees. The Controller will lead an accounting team with 10+ employees. The right candidate will be well-positioned to assume the CFO role a few years down the road.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, while ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
• With the CFO, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards.
• Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, with 8+ years of related experience, with MBA or CPA a plus
• Experience in nonprofit, fund, and/or foundation accounting
• GAAP knowledge required
• Fluency in MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Hands-on familiarity with MIP or similar fund accounting systems
• Strong written, verbal, and collaboration skills
• Supervisory and team leadership experience
• Desire to work for a nonprofit organization
