Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Conservation Program Manager provides leadership and oversight for Rocky Mountain Youth Corps Upper Rio Grande office, ensuring alignment with Positive Youth Development principles. Responsibilities include supervising staff, securing projects, managing partnerships, overseeing reporting, and supporting program design, evaluation, and implementation as programming expands.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Lead hiring, training, and supervision of Upper Rio Grand conservation program staff while fostering an inclusive work environment. Manage conservation projects, partner relationships, and budgets. Oversee risk management, safety protocols, and crew readiness. Support program development, data systems, and community collaborations. Ensure compliance with RMYC policies, maintain performance standards, and participate in organizational leadership and planning activities.

Other Information/Requirements: 

3+ years’ experience in youth/conservation corps or related field. Strong knowledge of public land agencies, budgeting, and field skills (e.g., saw use, trail work). Skilled in management, communication, facilitation, and Google Suite. Able to lead diverse teams and adapt to change. College degree or equivalent experience required; four-year degree and Spanish fluency preferred. Must pass background check, have insurable driving record, and lift 50 lbs. Some travel and field time required.
