Community Resource Specialist Intern

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

oThe intern will identity relevant and accurate resources for people affected by MS and connect people to these resources.
oThe intern will increase our resource list by 20% and update 80% of our current records.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Job Duties:
oIdentify previously unknown community resources throughout the chapter service area
oObtain comprehensive information about those resources
oUpdate known information currently in database
oIdentify resources that are no longer available and need to be deleted
oIdentify new potential partnerships
oConnect clients to resources
oMeet with community service providers when needed to build long-term collaboration between agencies.

oAbility to represent the National MS Society in a professional manner
oStrong organizational skills
oAbility to engage others in conversation and solicit needed information
oEffective verbal communication skills
oComputer skills
oCrisis intervention
Compensation:
oIntern will be paid $1,000 per semester for approximately 20 hours of work per week.
