Community Program Specialist - Policy and Grassroots Organizer

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Community Program Specialist supports grassroots advocacy and coalition efforts, contributes to program development and grant writing, and represents PCA externally. Candidates should have experience in policy advocacy, community organizing, and culturally responsive practices that promote equity and family engagement across New Mexico’s early childhood, economic, and wellness initiatives.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Coordinate and implement community programs aligned with PCA’s mission. Support operations, partnerships, and data analysis. Provide technical assistance, engage in advocacy, and contribute to grant development. Build coalitions, foster relationships, and lead collaborative initiatives. Organize events, trainings, and forums to mobilize families and advance policy and grassroots efforts.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Requires 4+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree. Preferred: bilingual in English/Spanish, experience in low-income communities, and co-creating programs with families. Skilled in facilitation, collaborative practices, and culturally responsive methods. Strong communication skills, including report and toolkit development, with a commitment to advocacy and community engagement.
