Main Areas of Responsibility: 

NMELC a non-profit public interest law office, seeks a Communications & Public Education Officer. This person will manage all website text; assist with writing articles for our newsletter; the primary person for posting online and social media content; the lead on writing Op eds & press releases; lead on press engagements & working with existing media contacts, establishing new contacts and assisting clients with media opportunities.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

This person will assist as needed with membership mailings and general data entry; and assist as needed with planning, implementation and promotion of special events. For a detailed job description go to our website: nmelc.org

Other Information/Requirements: 

Our environmental justice casework covers New Mexico. Minimum of three years of experience in communications. Must be an excellent writer and communicator, have media contacts or willingness to develop them; be able to see big-picture policy and strategy ideas while also focusing on detail.
