Main Areas of Responsibility:
The CDO serves as lead strategist for agency fund development, helping the CEO and management team create a multi-year plan for increasing voluntary revenue which informs and supports the agency’s plans for aggressive growth in the next five years. The CDO manages the fund development team, and serves as primary staff support (in fundraising matters) for the CEO and the Board. The CDO functions as the agency’s principal major gift fundraiser.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Key elements: new donor acquisition; major gifts; an annual giving program; and corporate and foundation giving. Supporting elements include: donor stewardship; gift entry and acknowledgement; database management; and donor research.
Responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects from all sources capable of giving $50,000 and more over time and for cultivating and soliciting individuals capable of giving $1,000+ annually.
