Main Areas of Responsibility: 

BEMP seeks educators who are energized and passionate about education, conservation, and helping to create a new generation of environmental stewards. Successful applicants should be adaptable and reliable with strong organization and communication skills. BEMP actively seeks educators who reflect the diverse communities we work with and who are passionate about best serving all BEMP students, especially those from Native American, Hispanic, and Latinx communities.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Deliver BEMP’s content rich curriculum about the bosque ecosystem and related ecological concepts to students in elementary, middle and high schools throughout the Albuquerque metro area during the school year, along with educational outreach during the summer. Participate in BEMP’s core community science, fieldwork, and research activities, especially Monthly Monitoring and arthropod pitfall trapping.

Other Information/Requirements: 

For full time, five years of combined education, community engagement, and environmental experience. For part time, three years of combined education, community engagement, and environmental experience. A strong foundation of ecological knowledge in either or both an indigenous or western science perspective (southwest riparian ecosystems preferred). Must successfully pass both a driving and criminal background check.
