Main Areas of Responsibility:
The Academic Support Advisor provides educational services and support to Upward Bound program participants. Responsible for promoting services and providing key support to students. Support to the coordinator in developing/updating program materials, managing and collecting activity evaluations, cultivating and maintaining relationships with participants, tutors, parents and school staff.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
The selected candidate will provide program participants with academic advising and planning; career awareness and assessment; information about post-secondary options, college entrance examination, and financial aid; and assistance with the application process; Assist students with college applications; Assist students with all financial aid applications; Chaperone field trips and activities outside of normal working hours; Monitor grades; Maintain student files and accurate records.
