Mission/Giving Statement: FAMRI’s mission is to sponsor scientific and medical research for the early diagnosis and cure of diseases and medical conditions caused from exposure to tobacco smoke.

Grantmaking Program Area Descriptions:
Clinical Innovators: This three-year award is to stimulate novel medical and clinical scientific research studies on the effects of exposure to tobacco smoke and to foster innovative breakthroughs as well as creative collaborations through these grants.
Young Clinical Scientists: This three-year award funds new investigators at the level of post-doctoral fellow or junior faculty in research on disorders caused by tobacco smoke. The program is designed to provide funding to researchers in the early stages of their careers in order to establish a cadre of young investigators whose careers are devoted to the prevention, treatment and cure of these diseases.
Type of Funding/ Funding Restrictions: FAMRI does not support investigators who are currently receiving funds from the tobacco industry. Animal use in research is restricted to mice and rats.
