Description

During this introductory session and discussion you’ll learn how to engage Board of Directors in your organization’s fundraising efforts. Participants will have an opportunity to think through the different elements of engagement starting with defining the role of Board members in fundraising activities. From there, you’ll learn how to implement the best approach for your organization and hold Board members accountable.

Presenters

Jan Bandrofchak has been a professional fundraiser for over 25 years serving a wide range of nonprofit organizations. She is currently a fundraising consultant with Madden Hosea & Associates. She has an undergrad degree from Michigan State University in Medical Technology and a Master’s degree in biology from Rhode Island College. Jan has served on numerous nonprofit Boards of Directors including the Outpost Performance Space, SANE & AAUW. She is a long time member of the NM Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has served in many leadership roles including Chapter President.

Pam Hurd-Knief, CFRE, has been a professional fundraiser for over 30 years and has served in a wide range of organizations including 20 years with the University of New Mexico. She is currently the Planned Giving Associate with WESST. Pam has an undergrad degree in Economics from Juniata College, and MSW from Penn State, an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of PA, an MA in Philanthropy & Development from St. Mary’s University. Pam has been a member of the NM Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals for 25 years; she served as Chapter President. Pam was also an elected member of the AFP International Ethics Committee.  She has served on over 20 ABQ nonprofit Boards including current service on the Boards of Albuquerque Community Foundation, Albuquerque Museum Foundation, and Adelante Development Center.
