Description

Nonprofits are increasingly realizing the need to collaborate in order to expand services while maximizing limited resources. There are many different ways to approach collaboration and establishing a mutually beneficial partnership can be tricky. In this session you will learn how to identify the right type of collaboration and the key things to keep in mind as you establish and build a partnership. 

You'll have an opportunity to hear nonprofit panelists talk about their real life experience working in collaborations. How did they find partners with a shared vision and build trust? How has the collaboration improved or expanded their program and service delivery? You'll leave with a better understanding of how your organization can engage in meaningful collaboration.

Presenter

Patty Emord, Ph.D., Collaborative Solutions Consulting, has performed a variety of services including strategic planning and design, program evaluation, building evaluation capacity, coordinating state-wide research programs, developing evaluation plans, collecting and analyzing data, writing evaluation reports, and facilitating focus groups. She has worked with clients from various state government agencies, academia, nonprofit social service agencies, community level organizations and tribal community health councils. Dr. Emord completed her Ph.D. in Organizational Learning and Instructional Technologies in May 2009, with an emphasis on using evaluation as a means to organizational learning.
