Engaging with UNM: Practical Strategies for Partnerships

Registration is closed for this event

Does your nonprofit want to collaborate with faculty and students at the University of New Mexico on a specific project? Join us to learn about best practices for service learning and how to connect with the right people.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the guidelines for working with UNM faculty and students on service learning projects and research
  • Find new opportunities to work with UNM staff and students to plan for future projects

Description

The Office of Community Engaged Learning and Research (CELR) invites community organizations and agencies to partner with the UNM community by actively engaging students in academic service learning or community-based research partnerships. CELR works closely with nonprofit community partners in order to create these mutually beneficial and sustainable partnerships.

This workshop will provide details about the UNM semester calendar, service learning and engagement guidelines, faculty interests and some project models. Nonprofits should come prepared to share their needs, ideas, and suggestions for ongoing communication, planning and productivity. This workshop will provide a place for all those involved to learn from each other and discuss potential collaborations.
