Developing a Fundraising Plan

Does your nonprofit have a strategic resource development plan?  Having a plan in place, being mindful of costs, and knowing how your fundraising efforts will benefit your organization are vital. Join us for this hands-on session where you will put together a development plan for your nonprofit.

  • Generate measurable fundraising goals for board approval
  • Understand the infrastructure necessary to support the development plan

Description

Each organization will have an opportunity to work with Jan and her associates to craft their own development plan.  You will learn about different types of fundraising, including special events, direct mail, planned giving, donor cultivation, and grant writing.  You will learn how to assess the resources required for each type of fundraising activity.

Participants will need to bring a laptop.  Each organization will receive a copy of Jan's e-book, "How to Create a Development Plan Step-by-Step."

The training is now full.

$75 registration fee includes the cost of the e-book.  Each additional person from the same organization is $50.

Presenters

Jan Hosea has been involved with nonprofit organizations all her life.  She "grew up" in the American Red Cross and served that organization for over 45 years as a dedicated professional and volunteer.  She has been a United Way professional, served as the Director of Development for the University of New Mexico School of Law and recently was the Director of Planned Giving for Presbyterian Health Foundation.  Through these positions and as a consultant since 1989, she has accumulated over 35 years of management and fundraising experience in the nonprofit sector.

Elizabeth Madden, has a wealth of experience in nonprofit management and foundation fundraising.  Her background includes 20 years in nonprofit growth, planning and resource development as Director of Development for the New Mexico Community Foundation in Santa Fe, Director of Special Events for Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation in Albuquerque, and Event Coordinator for the Jewish Museum & JFM Productions in New York, New York.
