Financial reporting for nonprofits requires understanding the different types of revenue: grants; contributions; and in-kind donations.  Grants can be conditional or unconditional.  Do you know how to account for pledges?  Understanding these distinctions will make your financial picture more accurate.  Join us to receive detailed instructions and examples of the different accounting rules for each type of contribution and grant revenue.

Presenter
Farley Vener leads Hinkle + Landers, PC as the President and Managing Shareholder. Farley Vener has more than 15 years of public accounting experience and specializes in assurance, consulting services for businesses non-profit and governmental organizations.  Farley also holds the CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) designation, which he has maintained for over six years; Farley also specializes in designing and improving not-for profit, small business and government accounting systems and operations.

A graduate of the University of New Mexico, Farley’s higher education included not only accounting but a degree in marketing management as well. Prior to his career as an accountant and auditor, Farley obtained his securities license and worked as an investment advisor. He is licensed through the State of New Mexico as a CPA and also holds a separate license as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).  Farley’s professional affiliations include membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Mexico Society of Certified Public Accountants, the New Mexico Society Peer Review Committee, Association of Governmental Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
