Finding a grant opportunity that aligns with the mission of your organization is the first step to a successful grant application.  Get focused and be efficient with grant research.  Learn how to use the New Mexico Grantmakers Directory and the federal Grants.gov website.

The New Mexico Grantmakers Directory was launched in 2008 and is a searchable database of entities that specifically award grants to New Mexico nonprofit organizations. The Directory was created to provide grantseekers with a focused point for grant research and to provide accurate and concise grantmaker profiles. Learn how to find a funder with goals that match your organization, and do further research on the funder. Learn why it is important to be in alignment with grantmaker priorities and guidelines.

Launched in 2003 Grants.gov provides a single website for federal grant opportunities. Learn how to search grant opportunities, register to receive notices of new opportunities and download grant application packages. Find out about DUNS numbers and why you might need one. Learn how to decipher the world of federal grants.

Presenters
Claudia Lucas, MA, has a professional background in community services planning and fund development.  Claudia has been writing proposals since 1988 and started The Written Edge in 1999 providing grant writing and search services to local nonprofits.   Claudia has taught grant writing courses since 2002.  Arika Sanchez is the Project Specialist, Center for Nonprofit Excellence.  Arika maintains the New Mexico Grantmakers Directory, the New Mexico Nonprofit Directory and Volunteer Connection.
