Do you want to improve your relationships with donors? Communities you serve?  Colleagues and collaborators?  Do you want to communicate more effectively? Understanding culture and how it affects your perceptions and behaviors and those of others is key.  Join us for this two hour introduction to cultural competency.

Our communities and organizations are more diverse than ever before.  How do we navigate these cultural differences and leverage diversity to create communities that are inclusive and thriving?  This session will highlight culture and its impact on behavior and communication.  Learn strategies needed to build stronger teams and foster community relationships across cultures.

Introductory: for nonprofit board, management, staff and volunteers interested in increasing intercultural competence and leveraging diversity.

Presenter:
Tamara Thorpe is the owner of TNT Development; she specializes in organizational leadership and intercultural relations.  She has more than 16 years experience in higher education and nonprofit management.  Tamara offers an expertise in communicating across cultures and working effectively in diverse organizations.  Tamara has a BA in Linguistics from the University of California, San Diego and an MA in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University in Victoria, British Columbia.
