This session will give you a good understanding of how to prepare for filing the new IRS Form 990. It is critical to understand key areas of the form to favorably present your organization to not only IRS but to your donors and grantors.  Also, incorrect information could trigger an IRS audit.

Learning Objectives
- Understand the IRS’ perspective of “good governance” and the general public’s expectation of nonprofit organizations
- Know how to correctly report compensation
- Know common errors in reporting revenues and expenses and how to avoid them

Level
Intermediate: for board members, executive directors and accounting personnel who have an understanding of their organization’s financial statements.

Presenter
Janice Moen, CPA, Chief Financial Officer, ARCA.  Janice has over 25 years accounting experience, twelve years as Chief Financial Officer or Chief Executive Officer with nonprofit agencies.  Janice also has five years experience as an external auditor of governmental and nonprofit agencies.
