Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Provide support, crisis intervention, information, referrals, and in-person advocacy to survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones. Volunteer Crisis Response Advocates are available to respond immediately to incoming crisis calls and in-person advocacy to victims in need of support.

Who Will Be Impacted Through This Project: 

As a Volunteer Crisis Response Advocate, you need to focus your attention on others and their crisis. Your effort is rewarded by knowing that you have helped someone through a difficult time and that you made a positive impact in somebody’s life. RCCCNM could not offer immediate crisis intervention, support, and advocacy 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without our dedicated Volunteer Advocates.

Internship Opportunity and Advocacy Certification.

Additional Requirements: 

• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Possess the desire and the ability to work with individuals and groups of varying backgrounds
• Successful completion of 40-hour training (next training begins September 10, 2019) and criminal background check
• Minimum 1 year commitment to the program
