Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

Volunteer tax preparers are needed to prepare tax returns for low income New Mexicans. You will receive all training required. Go to http://www.cnm.edu/taxhelp/index.php for additional information. Phone number (505) 247-3671 x 713. Ability to speak Spanish and/or Keres a plus.

Last year 12,818 tax returns were prepared by volunteers resulting in $21.7 million in tax refunds for the most vulnerable citizens in New Mexico.

Additional Requirements: 

Must pass IRS online certification exams which cover all basic tax filing requirements. You will receive all of the training necessary to pass the exams.
