Description of the Volunteer Opportunity:

Are you looking for a fun, enriching volunteer opportunity working with children? Become a volunteer at the Gutiérrez-Hubbell House!

The Gutiérrez-Hubbell House and property is a historic adobe home, orchard, and working farm in the South Valley dating to the 1800s. School groups visit the site for half-day trips and learn about its history through hands-on activities, explore the garden, and create crafts.

We welcome volunteers who are parents, students, retired people, or others available during the day during the week. No teaching experience necessary! We also welcome anyone interested in learning more about the Gutiérrez-Hubbell family and home.

People who speak Spanish, know about gardening or farming, have a connection to the South Valley, or enjoy arts and crafts are especially welcome!

Volunteers receive training to lead activities and school guides are asked for a commitment of four trips a year. Training begins this fall.
