Description of the Volunteer Opportunity: 

***Volunteer activity is still on hold due to restrictions during the COVID-19 pandemic, but we will update when this changes. Recruitment is ongoing as we would love to have new volunteers ready to go when we are!***

The Ronald McDonald House Family Room is located on the 6th Floor of the UNM Children's Hospital in the Child Life Center. The Family Room provides a "home away from home" within the hospital to families with ill or injured children receiving medical treatment at UNMH. This is a wonderful opportunity for college students who need some down time to study and give back at same time. Volunteers help with welcoming and registering families, maintaining supplies, and overseeing laundry and computer schedule.

Additional Requirements: 

You will need to attend the RMHC Orientation AND the Hospital Orientation before starting. We ask for a minimum 6 month commitment to serving in the Family Room. Volunteers must be 18 at the time of application. A background check must be completed and passed in order to volunteer.
